San Andreas devastated by a nuclear bomb!
by Logan, published: 03/09/2012
2 days ago, whilst everyone was going about their regular business, flying planes, driving cars, and doing whatnot, [SAP]Mixcraft informed the players of a terrifying event! A nuclear bomb had accidentally been set off at CMA! Everybody ran (some drove or even swam) for their lives! It seems that a lot of regular civilians have perished, along with the majority of players.
[SAP]Gz0r was instantaneously killed by the blast, his body was discovered washed up on the shoreline of the beach in San Fierro. [SAP]Walther's attempt to escape ended in failure, as his escape boat was violently thrown at a bridge connecting Whetstone and San Fierro by the shockwave. Logan eventually passed away due to radiation sickness. It is unclear about the cause of JohnNascar's, [SAP]Egert's and BenAgain's deaths. All that is known is that their bodies were found spread out all over San Andreas, severely disfigured. The only survivors were [SAP]Mixcraft and Wild, who managed to flee to the Oil Rig, where the blast could not reach. Authorities have reassured us that everything on the entire map has been rebuilt, however, experts have warned players to report any feelings of illness straight away, as it could be very serious. Thankfully, navigation has not been affected due to the nuclear bomb, and services may carry on as normal. Although, be on the lookout for any strange mutations to your pets.
One survivor, [SAP]Egert has released a statement of his concerns about the aftermath, and his experiences:
"I was warned about the bomb, so I started praying. I was very scared, I though of my children, and my wife. At least I survived the explosion, but the radiation... I hope there will be no birth defects in the future."
The photos below were retrieved by local authorites, from Logan's camera, which was found on a strap around his neck.

Shoutbox returns to SAP forums
by Nodroz, published: 11/09/2012
SAP FORUMS - Today, after countless requests, the shoutbox was finally re-added by [SAP]Chris. It is located at the top of the Forum page, instead of the sidebar at the homepage, as it used to be before.
The shoutbox on the homepage of the forum was removed by SAP Council 7 months ago due to spamming. However, many people did not agree with the decision and asked for it to be returned.
Now, again, players will have a convenient way of promoting events and having some fun at forums.

Touchdown for a new feature!
by Logan, published: 12/09/2012
Today, a long-desired feature has been added to airplanes: Touchdown Smoke. Although at the current time, this feature is still in the 'Experimental' stage, and has its bugs, it has nevertheless been well received. The smoke might not work for all wheeled aircraft, and of course, it does not work on helicopters. Occasionally, the smoke does not appear, and quite often it seems to be delayed. However, we are hope that our scripters will find a way to fix most, if not all, of these issues.

[SAP]Evel promoted to Secondary Civil Instructor!
by Logan/Walther, published: 23/09/2012
Some hours ago, [SAP]Torran announced that [SAP]Evel will be taking the role of Secondary Civil Instructor, and SAP Council Member. The position had been vacant for a few weeks, after [SAP]Barry decided to end his active involvement in the community, but the Council decided to stay silent until the best candidate was chosen. [SAP]Evel has already proved to be a capable leader, having established SAP Racing Club as the most successful third-party organisation, and organized the spectacular 24 Hours of SAPRC endurance race this summer.
Please note that Civil Department is a very important branch of SAP Council, as it is also responsible for airlines and other third-party organisations. The Civil Instructors are also required to be exceptionally skilled as pilots, especially at flying general aviation aircraft.
This is the first promotion to SAP Council since [SAP]Torran took charge of the Helicopter Department back in July. Here at SANA, we wish Evel all the best.

First radical changes coming up: new disciplinary policy, aircraft rental removed
by Walther, published: 25/09/2012
10 days ago, a fully open discussion on the future of SAP was initiated by SAP Council. Instead of the behind-closed-doors decision making at the top, with the rest of SAP members being consulted on minor details, everybody was free to put forward what they would like to see on the server, and anyone would be able to vote on an equal basis. This extent of democracy, never seen before, has resulted in a steady stream of ideas, some of which were implemented today.
A couple of weeks ago, a number of SAP members have expressed their support for a more liberal punishment system, giving banned players a chance to redeem themselves. From now on, there will be one-week and one-month temporary bans for less serious offences, such as general misbehavior, and minor cheating. However, these will be followed by permanent bans if necessary. Evading any type of ban will result in the highest form of punishment - permanent (possibly, range-) ban. SAP members should also find new warnings available for use.
Chat policing has changed considerably. Swearing filter was replaced with a new version - from now on, individual players can choose whether they want to see foul language in chat or not. Be a loudmouth - SAP Bot has plugged his ears with a /swearfilter command. Remember, though, spamming will get you muted for 20-seconds, and advertising other servers will be treated in a similar manner as hacking - expect a 'vacation'.
Most importantly though, SAP Council has followed the will of active majority and made the decision to scrap the widely unpopular aircraft rental system. You may still have to pay for fuel, but costs of flying should not be as prohibitive as they were before! Enjoy!

Civil Department of SAP Council goes through further changes
by Walther, published: 30/09/2012
Just a week after [SAP]Evel earned his promotion to Secondary Civil Instructor position, the head of Civil Department, [SAP]Andy, handed in his resignation letter, citing real-life commitments as the primary reason behind his decision. As a result, the civil department underwent a full change of leadership. [SAP]Evel took the position of SAP Civil Instructor, while [SAP]John was promoted in order to take the post of Secondary Civil Instructor.
[SAP]Andy became the head of Civil Department in March 2012, after holding the post of Secondary Civil instructor since its introduction in April 2011. More importantly, he is also known as the 2nd SAP Commander, having led the clan between February 2008 and August 2009, which some people regard as the golden age of the 'old' SAP. He effectively participated in clan leadership for almost 4.5 years!
[SAP]John held the now-abandoned post of Basic Instructor from autumn of 2010 to March 2011, when the current structure of SAP Departments was established. He proved himself as a strict, demanding, but also a capable instructor, having taught many pilots how to achieve safe and smooth flight. His experience as the leader of many organisations, including airBanana, SAS, and San Andreas Aviation Academy, as well as impressive mapping skills make him a valuable member of SAP Council.
