Rental bug fixed, many more issues getting resolved
by Walther, published 15/07/2012
The bug which had been one hell of a pest in our community - the infamous Rental Bug has finally been dealt with. Due to some problems with the code, rental fee was charged far more often than at normal interval of once per minute, resulting in huge bills that even the richest players could not pay. Now, after a few days, it can be confirmed that the players can safely return - and indeed, the level of activity on server is showing a visible increase. Also, we have been tipped off that SAP Flights version 2.0.3 is very close - stay with us for further updates!

Changes in SAP Development team & SAP Council: Torran joins the top brass as the Scripter & Helicopter Instructor
by Walther, published: 09/07/2012
Yesterday it was announced that [SAP]Torran has finally earned a place in SAP Council, taking over the seat of [SAP]Sgt, who had to be demoted due to real life commitments interfering with his duties. This means that the new Council member will not only lead the Helicopter Department, but also work as a scripter, a position he can be trusted with after successfully pulling off big projects such as 24h of SAPRC. Also, Secondary Extreme Instructor [SAP]Mixcraft will join the SAP Development team, which is currently being led by [SAP]Chris.
There is little doubt that it is a positive development, as [SAP]Torran has the skills and time necessary for the position, and he joins the Development team with [SAP]Mixcraft at the time when every good scripter is urgently needed to help finish the Big SAP Update. However, there are a few other facts to consider, which make Torran's promotion a very significant achievement - not only he was the first one to pass the new helicopter test, just to become the next head of Helicopter Department, he also managed earn back the trust and to rise all the way through the ranks after being banned for cheating back in 2009. We wish him all the best and hope that some positive changes in SAP will follow. Good luck!

SANA 3rd Seasonal Awards Conclude - Who Are The Winners?
by Walther, published 15/07/2012
PUFFIN ISLAND - This evening, during a rather modest ceremony, we have announced the winners of our traditional Seasonal Awards. There have been only 8 votes, as many complained about the difficulties when trying to nominate people in various categories - the activity on server has been rather low in the last month. Nevertheless, we decided to proceed with our tradition and hope that things will only improve in the future.
The winners (the list is published below) have received customary userbars, a good amount of claps, and, in case they arrived at the ceremony, cash prizes. Also, the winner of the best ads category will get a 10% discount for the next season. There were some nice highlights before the ceremony started - [SAP]Evel decided to arrive to the island on boat, and actually managed to get all the way to the front door. [SAP]Torran, facing such competition, flew in his fully-tuned Elegy on a private helicopter. Both had to face dire weather conditions and have bravely completed the trial. Logan was taking pictures during the event - we hope to see them soon.

Money! Money! - SANA Unveils Employee Payment Scheme
by Walther, published 17/07/2012
SAN FIERRO - After a rather successful introduction of advertisements on our website, we have decided it is time to put the earnings to good use - start paying the employees! Hopefully, this will attract more people to our organisation, and will help us reduce our dependency on the few core members.
The payment scheme has been designed on individual submissions basis - the more news reports or photo stories you bring, the more you can earn. Currently, payouts range from $1000 to $1500 per article/photo collection, depending on quality of content, however, in exceptional cases, such as long and well-written reports, we may reward you with a higher sum. Our employees should be familiar with the content submission system. In case you want to join us and start earning money, click on the Recruitment tab.
Until SAP organisations update is introduced, payments will be handled by SANA treasurer [SAP]Walther.

As there were many troubles with the previous version 2.0, a new one has been introduced.
First of all, the most important part that all the known bugs have been fixed and there should be no more trouble with the rental. As for the other updates, a little information of them all:
- Cockpit and Intercom - use "!" to talk to your co-pilot, and "=" to address the passengers in cabin
- More missions - There are now several new Nevada & Shamal missions, also are introduced 4 new AT-400 missions that have 25 second waiting times at destinations for loading/unloading passengers. These can be done at the San Fierro International Airport service station. Bad news to money farmers: now you cannot use service station teleports or /home_teleport while doing a mission.
- New signs at the LV Flight School - People can see more clearly where the flight simulator is located, and the price list has been written on the wall. Pictures
- Distance output change on ADF / VOR - Before there might have been difficulties for the ATC in knowing who is closer to a navigational beacon, since indicators of both planes could be showing 4k, now that has changed. It now shows in more detail as 4.1k or 4.9k. Example

Despite being started only 2 days ago, the club gained interest, having already acquired 5 members, and having held one event. The current members are Logan, [SAP]Gz0r, [SAP]Egert, Johnnified, and Jzeero. SAP DFC will regularly hold tournaments and cups, with different styles of dogfighting. There will be cash prizes for the most of these events. Anyone willing to help train hopeful dogfighters can sign up to be an instructor, however, a minimum of 5000 points is required for this. Those who wish to join the club may apply by clicking here.

Rental Fees Introduced For Missions, Putting An End To Abuse
by Walther, published: 21/07/2012
It has been noticed that quite a few players have been abusing the missions system to keep their expenses at minimum, taking advantage of the fact that there was no aircraft rental fee charged when on a mission. According to scripter [SAP]Torran, such a loophole was not intended, when SAP Flights 2.0 was introduced.
From now on, unless you are flying in a private aircraft, the rental fee will always be charged. The amounts charged per minute remain unchanged, however, they will become quite noticeable when doing long missions on larger aircraft. See the full list of rental fees below:

Property boom in San Fierro Paradiso area sends prices soaring
by Walther, published 25/07/2012
SAN FIERRO - Just yesterday, three people moved in to the Paradiso area, the most prestigious residential district of the city, that could easily rival Mulholland of Los Santos. The first five houses to be claimed come with a parking slot at the soon-to-be refurbished San Fierro City airport, with some properties offering panoramic views of the city. If you hope to persuade the owner of the most attractive house to give up his property, you may have to pay over $1,000,000.
The current residents are [SAP]Legend, [SAP]Torran, and [SAP]Walther, who were quick to issue a couple of rules: no aircraft are allowed to use the streets in the area, and no visitors are permitted to arrive on their helicopters, as such behavior creates safety and noise issues.

SAP Flights 2.2 - What's in store?

- Players compete to earn ACE status, which is the player with the most victories. Whilst in beta, this game is free to play, hence the participants cannot win any money. After the testing is complete, it will cost a small amount to play, yet money will be won.
Full details on this feature can be found here. - To prevent players from abusing the lack of rental fees whilst on a mission, a final decision was made to charge rental fees at all times unless the player is in a private aircraft. More information and a full list of prices can be found in our article published earlier this month.
- The final feature added is a minor but always welcome addition - bug fixes.
SAP Hawks get an upgrade!
by Logan, published: 25/07/2012
SAP's only skydiving club, SAP Hawks, have been given an interior for their base, and a rather large one at that. The interior is a refurbished Crack Palace. A rather exceptional job has been made of it. Hawks members will be able to take full advantage, and visit at any time.
Meetings and parties will be held there in the future. It features a conference room, an office, a disco room, a lounge, an elevator, a bar, beds, a television set, a bathroom, and quite possibly the new mascot of the Hawks organisation, a model cow. We managed to catch up with Hawk's CEO, [SAP]Egert, and ask him a few questions. There is also a slideshow showing the interior.

Logan: How do you feel about Hawks receiving this large
interior? [SAP]Egert: Well to be honest, I'm quite surprised [SAP]Andy didn't question me about it being this large, so very good. L: Are you happy with the way it's been remapped? E: The cow (see pictures) has been re-added too high, but the elevator (also see pictures) Joe added is great. |
L: In your own words, please describe what does it mean for Hawks to receive this honour.
E: It feels great to do paperwork inside. Before, I had to do it in any random location. Now I can freely invite people in for meetings and such. I have been waiting for this for a long time. L: Thank you for your time. |
