World taxiing record broken!
by Walther, published: 11/7/2011
SAN FIERRO - On 3rd of November, [SAP]Destroyed took taxiing to a new level. The pilot covered the distance from Missionary Hill in San Fierro to his home in Las Venturas using roads only. Although this method of transportation, also known as dodocar, is quite unconventional, it is claimed that it reduces traffic congestion in the skies (which is especially relevant in San Fierro area), and also gives the San Fierro Transport Authority the opportunity to raise some tax revenue.
Since our reporter was doing some work at SANA HQ, it was possible to provide photographic evidence of the record-breaking attempt.

Remembering SAP Autumn Shootout '11
by Walther, published 11/09/2011
Back in October, the outlook was grim. The popularity of server was not that high, and some concerns about the future were raised. At that hard moment came the long-awaited event which brought an astonishing number of 22 players to our server. Since then, old players have been returning, and new ones showing up more frequently. Maybe it wasn't the event alone, but given the quality of it, claiming that the shootout was not important would be unfair.
So, there came the pilots. Damn good pilots. Even [TDH]Tom himself, determined to defend his title as The King of the Skies. The number of participants was so high, that 3 rounds of competition were needed before the finals began. Although spectators got a bit annoyed by frequent restarts caused by mid-air collisions, the quality of show was astonishing - remember [TDH]Tom versus [SAP]Gz0r, that was the fight! Or Matty and Walther fighting until the last drop of fuel, where Matty came out as an unlikely finalist (yet not experienced enough to steal the title from almighty [TDH]Tom).
Yet, it was not only the competition (otherwise it wouldn't have been as fun as hell). In the very beginning, an uninvited plane exploded right above the lined-up competitors, resulting in a spectacular fireworks show (and a short jail sentence for the intruder). And who could forget [SAP]Sgt and [SAP]Mixcraft dueling with miniguns midair, on the backs of Rustlers!
SAP Shootout:Fall Edition was clearly the event of this autumn season, and we should really be thankful to organizers - [SAP]Legend and [SAP]DPhelps from military department. This is something that brought us all together and things like that should never be forgotten. If you missed the event or would like to remember those moments - check out the videos taken by our cameraman Nodroz.

North Los Santos Airfield is open again
by Migs, published: 11/12/2011
LAS VENTURAS - After 3 months of closure, North Los Santos Airfield opens again for air traffic. It should be remembered that in August, the airfield was closed by [SAP]Barry, then SAP Commander, due to suspected drug smuggling operations in the area. The airfield was stripped of its fences and other airfield services. The San Andreas National Guard was sent in to control the area.
On November 11, [SAP]Barry re-opened the airfield to air traffic. Its safety fence was installed again and runway lights were added. Motorists driving on the boundary road should be reminded that traffic closes for every take-off or landing.

by Nodroz, published: 11/16/2011
The time has come. A fellow SAP member, [SAP]Jens, decided to leave San Andreas Pilots server. Having joined back in 2007, in the early days of SAP, he was promoted to SAP member status in early 2008. According to [SAP]Jens, he had a great time in the SAP server, having witnessed the player base expand, and many new features being implemented.Due to changes of activities and interests, he had been thinking about leaving since summer of 2009, and now finally decided to do it.
Let's wish good luck to our fellow member, and hope that we'll see him sometime again.

Extreme_D's 'Miracle' released!
by Walther, published 11/18/2001
One of the best stunters at SAP, the winner of latest SAP Official Air Race, who is also known as Extreme_D has finally released the video showcasing his best stunts. The compilation, titled as Miracle features some really original examples of aerobatics, so the traditional long-tunnel runs are kept at a minimum. All stunts were performed using an unmodified version of GTA:SA, using keyboard only, which unfortunately can't be fully appreciated due to the video being too dark and overloaded with flashes, blur, and other special effects. Despite these shortcomings one has to admit that all involved in the making of this video have done a great job and fully deserve the credit they receive.
Those who have not watched the video on SAP forums, should be able to do it here.

SAP Events Committee resumes activity
by John, published: 11/19/2011
SAN FIERRO - We have just received a news update from SAP Events Committee - they are becoming active! This means that all SAP players can expect new events and activities coming soon. SAP Events Committee also announced their new members: [SAP]John, [SAP]Gz0r, [SAP]Torran and [SAP]Livisor. [SAP]John, the original founder of this organisation, told us that new members were recruited because the old SAP Events Committee team was inactive.
SAP Events Committee (also to be known as SAPEC) is a group of people who organise different kinds of events with their ultimate goal stated as 'Making people in SAP happy and let them enjoy their stay in the server''. As stated in SAPEC official announcement, they are working on their basic structure so they can not promise many events right now, but will definitely start working at full throttle soon.
We would like to clarify that SAP Events Committee was formed and announced on August 30th, 2010, but did not turn out to be a successful organisation. SAPEC members back then were: [SAP]John, [SAP]Laz0r, [SAP]Kabo and [SAP]Highflyer (who, as of 19/11/2011, is banned).
We wish good luck to SAP Events Committee and hope to see some events coming soon!

airBanana introduces feeder flights
by John, published 11/23/2011
SAN FIERRO - airBanana has developed and announced a brand new flight system - airBanana Feeder Flight System.
The system will work as follows: 2 Beagles will depart from different airports and then meet at the a major airport, from where an bigger plane will take all passengers to a more distant destination. airBanana also has announced special discounts for those who fly on both flights, and they will not need to check-in again for the main flight, just head straight to the departure lounge.

San Andreas News Agency had a chance to ask a few questions to airBanana CEO - [SAP]John:
SANA: How did you decide to create this new flight system?
[SAP]John: Well, [SAP]Andy suggested this idea some time ago and since extra passenger seats were added to beagles I decided to take a look at this idea again.Afterwards we decided with [SAP]Andy that such system should be created and began to work on it.
SANA: What is the difference between airBanana Feeder Flight System and usual flights?
[SAP]John: Feeder Flight System will guarantee more flights and since we use beagles for feeder flights, passengers will be able to see the beautiful scenery during flight. Also Feeder Flight System will be more challenging for crew - we will need to work harder, more correctly and more professional because all flights are connected to each other.
SANA: Will this new flight system require many crew members?
[SAP]John: No,we've planned jobs very carefully so these flights can be done with minimum count of crew members.
SANA: This sounds promising. We wish you the best of luck in the future and thank you for your time.
[SAP]John: Thank you.
As [SAP]John mentioned in the interview, airBanana Feeder Flight System consists of 3 flights - 2 feeder flights and 1 main flight. airBananahave scheduled Feeder Flight Systemlaunch this Saturday (11/26/2011) with 3 flights. airBanana partners SAPRC will organise a race at SAPi. BoNo CEO becomes inactive, COO receives more powers
by Walther, published: 11/23/2011
ROCK ISLAND - Nodroz, the CEO of BoNo Airlines announced his inactivity today. Due to exams, he will be unable to participate in airline business until 20th of December. In order for the airline to remain active, he gave Royal (the COO of BoNo) the powers to schedule flights, hence the passengers should not expect serious disruptions to services. As for Nodroz, we wish him best luck in his exams!

RegionAir - a new regional startup airline
by Walther, published 11/25/2011
ISLA DEL GRAN CERRO - There's a new player in the business - RegionAir - founded by people experienced in airline business - Shaun, who left AirAndreas after its future became uncertain, and [SAP]Gecko, a former employee of BoNo Airlines. Based on Isla Del Gran Cerro, it will operate one leased Beagle, aiming to provide 'fantastic service at a fair cost', while also claiming to be a prestigious airline (which is quite odd, given the fact there have been no flights).
At the moment, the airline is in startup phase - the recruitment procedure is not completed (although applications are open already), and the website is still under construction. It is rumoured that flight booking and online check-in are to be implemented, which would make RegionAir the second airline to introduce both of these features. Hopefully, RegionAir will be fully operational by early 2012.
These developments are a part of a recent airline boom, caused by the creation of passenger version of Beagle aircraft. So far, 3 new airlines became official, and the market leaders airBanana have gone through significant fleet and route network changes. However, this growth in the industry remains nominal, due to largely passive behaviour of the startup airlines. Hopefully, RegionAir will not become another member of this grounded airlines' club.
