Initial plans for Flights 3.0 announced - houses, cars & more...
by Walther, published: 11/10/2012
Tonight, SAP Council have published the initial plans for the next generation of server gamemode - Flights 3.0. Over the last 4 weeks, the active players have been discussing which path SAP should take, many ideas were brought to a vote, with the Council putting the approved ones together in a single big picture, a sketch of which we can see today.
The cornerstone of the new system is, by popular demand, the introduction of private vehicles and houses for common players. The money earned from the missions, as well unlocking the brand-new achievements will allow players to gain access to and acquire private vehicles and houses at new purpose-built islands. Donators will be able to settle on mainland, with a larger vehicle park, at specially designated houses. It is also mentioned that car tuning will finally return to the server, being absent since the introduction of Flights 2.0.
Another pleasant change - the aircraft fuel is to be made free again - to ensure that everybody has a chance to fly any aircraft they want. However, many other aspects were not included in the initial plan, such as aircraft upgrades, third-party organisations, parking for private aircraft, among other things. The new gamemode is still in a comparatively early development stage, and SAP Council are open to opinions & suggestions.

Civil Aviation Club aims to continue the legacy of SAAA
by Walther, published: 25/10/2012
SAN FIERRO - The general aviation fans of San Andreas can finally hope for a revival of once-popular organised cross-country flights. A new unofficial organisation, known as Civil Aviation Club was founded by [SAP]John, who aims to fill the void created by the demise of a former civil aviation giant San Andreas Aviation Academy.
Although the club already has 11 members, and has carried out two 'weekly' fly-ins (no third one has been announced so far), it is yet to prove itself as a stable organisation. There might some potential for that (check out the pictures from 29th of September dodo formation), the server does not seem to be completely deserted after all. If you would like to join the club or learn more about it, click the link.

San Andreas News Agency announces temporary shutdown
by Walther, published: 25/10/2012
SAN FIERRO - Having successfully provided the news coverage at San Andreas Pilots community for over a year, San Andreas News Agency is unfortunately forced to temporarily cease operations until further notice. This will affect the quarterly SANA Seasonal Awards, which were supposed to take place this weekend, and regular news reporting. Although the decline in activity on SAP has been a factor, it is not the primary cause of this decision.
During the last few weeks, SANA had to face an unprecedented drop in contributions from the members of our organisation. The current editor has been unable to compensate with own news reports due to real-life commitments. In such a state, the organisation is not sustainable, and discussions will take place in SANA Council regarding the changes that must be made. We hope that this inactivity period will not be long.
Stay tuned.
San Andreas News Agency
UPDATE: No more contributions will be accepted until further notice, all outstanding payments will be settled shortly. News reporting will carry on on a smaller scale, only to cover the development of SAP Flights 3.0.
