LEAKED: The Big Update is being released next week!
by unnamed SANA contributor, published: 1/4/2012
The most-expected event is finally near! After hundreds of hours of work, SAP Council have decided to finally reveal their big creation to public. It is expected, that the update will be launched right after the next Sunday's Spring Edition of SAP Air Race. However, the most exciting part is that we actually managed to get some details from one of the creators, who, under the threat of demotion, refused to make his name known.
First of all, a few radical steps have been taken to increase airline activity. It has become known that the big and long-ranged passenger jets have been restricted to airlines and flight-school organisations only, while the small aircraft can no longer refuel at the distant islands unless they are based there. Quite a few restrictions will be applied to military aircraft as well - now they will be unable to leave the MATZ/Carrier zones and corridor joining them unless specially permitted. Attempts to break this rule will result in self destruction. This will make airline flights virtually the only way to reach distant islands. Nothing was said about the private vehicles, though.
Secondly, there is information that the big second mainland mapped by StreetKid quite a while ago might be included in the update due to better object count restrictions, and will feature a major international airport, a smaller regional airport, a military airfield, and a series of airstrips. With this resulting in creation of another big road network, it was decided to allow trucking organisations (which will have a few specifically scripted features), to create some additional activity away from mainland. It is also mentioned that trains will finally make a return afer a 4-year absence.
Thirdly, organisations will be finally able to provide solid rewards to their players. Similarly to airlines, there will be a class system introduced for third-party organisations as well, and each organisation will receive a certain amount of houses/private vehicle slots which will be allocated by organisations leaders to the most active players. Obviously, higher class of organisation means better property and better vehicle choices, so the organisations members will have to work harder to achieve better perks for themselves.
The last and quite exciting news, is that finally, most of SAP Council positions will be decided by elections held every 6 months, with every SAP member being allowed to participate. Although these people might no longer have access to certain admin features allowed to current Council members, they will participate in Council meetings and will be able to represent all the players that voted for them.
We are extremely excited about the news and hope that the update will finally help increase the number of players on server!*

[ANNOUNCEMENT] Big SAP Update Leak story is an April Fools Day joke
by Walther, published: 1/4/2012
Today, around 11:30 GMT a news story was published, supposedly describing in detail the features of the upcoming SAP update, and even announcing the release date. To those who naively believed the story and did not read the small print below, we would like to clarify - these have nothing to do with the actual Big Update. All of the text is pure fiction, written by one of our contributors. No SAP Council member ever leaked to SANA any sensitive information regarding the update, and we would never actually post any true facts that our members may know as we do not want to destroy the surprise factor of the update. Sorry to disappoint you.

Terrorist attack forces San Fierro City airport terminal evacuation
by Walther, published 2/4/2012
SAN FIERRO - Last week, all major players in the airline industry have carried out their first flights at the brand new San Fierro City airport, which has has the second-ever openly accessible terminal at SAP (after the Heliport). The flights of BoNo Airlines and JMX Travel SA were carried out without any major incident. However, this Sundays airBanana inaugural flight almost got jeopardised when a savage attack presumably by jad_kassir resulted in a huge fireball and glass raining down on the passengers' heads.
As chat logs have shown, the perpetrator was jailed immediately, however, the check-in was interrupted, and the evacuation of terminal was ordered. Brave firefighting effort by [SAP]Andy allowed the operations resume in a short while. However, the damage to airport's reputation was done, with some players calling it the worst airport due to its vulnerability - right after the attack, a fuel truck was spotted inside the terminal!
San Fierro residents have sent a petition to the Police Department asking to provide security for any airline flights operating at the airport - the terrorist threat has almost wiped out the advantage the local hotels gained when the visitors were offered magnificent views of the aircraft flying in and out of the airport. The police, having failed to arrive at scene, refused to comment on the incident.

Suspected terrorist denies his role in San Fierro City airport attack
by Migs, published: 2/4/2012
SAN FIERRO - In an interview with jad_kassir, the suspected terrorist responsible for yesterday's attack on San Fierro City Airport, he denied the claims that he did the attacks and blames a person who "hit" him and crashed into the terminal. He said in a statement:
"I think I did that when I was at the airport and a plane hit me and crashed and SANA lies."
The attack on the airport yesterday left several passengers injured, and caused a fire with the terminal suffering structural damage.
As a result, airBanana inaugural flight at this airport had to be delayed. Professional actions by the aB crew prevented further injuries.

KFly permanently ceases operations, citing financial problems among the causes
by Walther, published: 14/04/2012
SAN FIERRO - Today, TNT, the former CEO of long-inactive KFly released a statement, confirming that the airline is now officially defunct:
As you all probably know, in light of recent events, and after a long period of inactivity, KFly and its crew haven't been able to live up to the airline industry standards in SAP.
That, combined with high operating and maintenance costs and low revenue, has made its existence nearly impossible from a financial standpoint. Because of that, it is highly important and in the airline's best interests that we act quickly.
Representing the airline's administration, I hereby declare bankrupcy and announce immediate closure.
StarFox, the acting leader of KFly, has confirmed that the matter was discussed and agreed on with TNT, the long-time CEO.
It is ironic that high operating and maintenance costs were cited among the reasons for airline's closure, as it had stayed inactive since early January, and rented its fleet from municipal airports, paying for nothing but administration costs and salaries to the crew.

SANA 2nd Seasonal Awards conclude - who's won?
by Walther, published 17/4/2012
PUFFIN ISLAND - With some happy noise, the ceremony for the second edition of our Seasonal Awards took place at the ISL8 Forum, hence continuing a new tradition. These awards brought quite a few surprises, and turned out to be quite competitive. It was not easy to determine winners in some categories, so, like last time, joint awards were given for two of them.
Obviously, you would like to take a look at the actual winners! This time, we are giving you a full breakdown of votes.

Torran resigns as AVSI CEO, leaving Matty in charge
by Walther, published: 18/03/2012
LOS SANTOS - Last season's startup, Audio Video Still Image is apparently failing to stand up to initial expectations. Founded as the reformed FRO, it has struggled to promote its activities. The CEO, [SAP]Torran, seing lack of enthusiasm within the organisation, and being preoccupied with the more successful SAPRC, decided to leave the organisation, transferring the leadership to [SAP]Matty, the Co-CEO, who was one of the founding members.
There are a doubts regarding the future of AVSI as such, as Matty is yet to show his potential as an effective leader - neither of the organisations in which he has a managing position have been active lately: be it San Andreas Flying Centre or SAP Hawks. While having an inexperienced member lead multiple organisations shows that there is a lack of players who have the skills or the time and energy needed to run an organisation, it also means, that there are plenty of opportunities for new players to prove themselves. We are still waiting for them to do something about it.

SAPRC headquarters open to public, not safe for health (yet)
by Walther, published: 20/4/2012
LAS VENTURAS - SAP Racing Club have finally received the keys to their new headquarters, located in an industrial building on the northwestern outskirts of Las Venturas. Despite our earlier claims in the interior photo leak article (published in October 2011), it has turned out that the interior is rather plain, and features only the most basic necessities required by the leading racing organisation. There is an office, a storage area, a meeting room and a vehicle repair workshop with its own fuel pump, which is inaccessible for vehicles at the moment. There is also an issue with the exit, causing a player to fall in a heavily intoxicated state upon leaving the building. Local health authorities blame the utility company, which is supposed to supply power to the building's ventilation system.
Hopefully, the issues will be resolved. As for now, we have a few pictures to share:

SAPRC headquarters pass health safety check with flying colors
by Walther, published 28/04/2012
LAS VENTURAS - The power supply to the ventilation system of SAPRC headquarters has been restored, resulting in the building passing the health safety check with a good rating. Previously, due to the ventilation being shut down, toxic fumes had accumulated in the car repair shop, and had spread all over the building, resulting in players leaving the building heavily intoxicated and unable to find their way around the neighborhood. Utility company was blamed for this incident, however, there is no confirmed information regarding any compensation for the damage caused.
