Keywest recovers after a devastating tsunami
by Egert, published 01/08/2012
Keywest, an island originally built by [SAP]Barry, has been cleaned up after a tsunami hit it last year. All what remained of the island was submerged under a thick cover of debris, sand and water. But now that [SAP]Torran had picked up a spade and a bucket, he uncovered the island and made it open for public again.
The airport has a runway that is surrounded by water on three sides. Runway numbers are 09 and 27, with runway 27 featuring no obstacles, and 09 being a little challenging but with a beautiful view while on approach. The airport complex features 3 terminal buildings, a historical one dating back to 1930s, a larger 1950s building, and a modern wing, featuring architecture never seen before at SAP. There are multiple gates, but the terminal hasnt been opened yet, neither is refueling station operational, but that is compensated by a fuel truck. There is also a firetruck that can be used in case of emergency, and two hangars for small aircraft.
Most of the buildings in the town area are modest houses. However, there is plenty of parking space, which makes the island suitable for living. For visiting tourists, there are some hotels in the area, a church, and a lighthouse. There are a few prominent waterfront areas, with the southern one having a brightly lit promenade. At the islands western side, there is a huge dock, capable of accommodating at least 10 boats. Right to the West of the terminal there's a bridge which is still under construction, so hopefully, we'll see a much bigger Keywest in some time.

Paradiso Sold Out! Time to look for a San Fierro home of your dreams elsewhere...
by Egert, published: 01/08/2012
SAN FIERRO - A few days ago, we witnessed the skyrocketing demand for houses at the Paradiso area, but now it has come to an end with bad news for those who haven't moved in - all of the houses have been sold out. There are now 9 SAP Members living in the area and are happy with the place. More and more interiors are being added, and plane parking spots at SFC are being occupied. The residents of the Paradiso area are [SAP]Torran, [SAP]Walther, [SAP]Legend, [SAP]Egert, [SAP]Nodroz, [SAP]Livisor, [SAP]Evel, [SAP]Kromeshnik and [SAP]Mixcraft.
At the time of the publishing, there were 7 private aircraft spots at SFC, with 5 of them occupied. The 3 larger spots, as well as 4 places at the terminal gates remain off limits to private aircraft and are reserved for airline aircraft. There are also some spots available at a tiny unofficial field just west of Paradiso, that many call Courchevel. That field is very close to the Residential area, so its good to use when SFC will have its parking spots filled. Currently only [SAP]Legend has his dodo there.

SAP DFC becomes official!
by Logan, published: 02/08/2012
Yesterday, SAP Dogfighting Club became the latest addition to SAP's official organisations. It has already picked up quite a lot of interest, despite having only been running for the past 2 weeks, having 13 members, 5 of which are SAP members, and already 2 successful events under its belt.
SAP DFC's CEO Logan, had this to say:
"I'm extremely happy that [SAP]Mixcraft gave his approval for my organisation. Having our own child board on the forums not only makes us more visible, but it also allows the club to be considerably expanded, as we can create as many topics as we need. This is a big event for me, as I've never been part of anything like this before."
If you wish to join this club, and take part in future events, you can sign up here.

24 Hours of SAPRC endurance race is set to become a success
by Nodroz, published: 05/08/2012
After months of scripting, mapping, debugging, meetings, etc...
The preparations for the 24 Hours of SAPRC endurance race have finally been completed. Co-founders of SAPRC, [SAP]Torran, the scripter of this custom gamemode and [SAP]Evel, the mapper, helped by [SAP]Mixcraft and [SAP]Walther, have done a great job over this long period of time, and the result is outstanding! The final script includes tyre wear, fuel consumption, and much more. SAPRC hosted warm up sessions to test the script before the final race.
The warmup sessions that were hosted this weekend were a big success. All the registered teams attended these sessions, each lasting 2 hours. In the end of the first warmup session, Team Doppelkupplingsgetriebe showed us that they're one of the best. They managed to get the 1st place by pulling off an incredible number of 105 laps during Saturday's session. People see them as the big winners of the endurance race, but we're yet to see it becoming true on the day of the race. Everything can still happen.

[SAP]John announces SAPEC and SAAA closure
by Nodroz, published: 12/08/2012
On Saturday, [SAP]John, the leader in the organisation industry of SAP, announced the closure of SAP Events Committee and San Andreas Aviation Academy, better known by their short names, SAPEC and SAAA, respectively. Both organisations have been inactive for quite a few months, with no people coming forward to take over and help them resume activity.
SAPEC was originally founded by [SAP]John on 13th of August 2010. The "committee" (the people who represented SAPEC and organised events) consisted of 4 people: SAP Higher Command member [SAP]Kabo, 2 SAP members [SAP]John and [SAP]HighFlyer and then-cadet Laz0r. SAPEC became official on 30th of August 2010. According to our most recent information, they didn't do any events during that time, and the organisation went inactive shortly after being started.
On November 20, 2011, [SAP]John posted an application for SAPEC to become official. The members this time were [SAP]John, [SAP]Gz0r, [SAP]Torran and [SAP]Livisor. A week later the application was accepted and SAPEC received their own place at the forums. They held their first event on November 27, 2011 (car finding). A bit later, in January 2012, SAPEC did more events - Boat race, Vortex Races, Stunting race and some more small events. These events were really popular and well organised.
On January 20, [SAP]John announced the demotion of [SAP]Torran, with [SAP]Nodroz replacing him. After this change, SAPEC went innactive once again until [SAP]John, the leader of SAPEC, announced the closure. The main reason - [SAP]John does not have enough time to fill his position as the founder and organise events. He also stated that there are enough organisations in SAP (e.g. SAPRC, SARX, SAP Hawks, SAP DFC), so SAPEC was not needed anymore.
SAAA was originally founded by [SAP]John on 3rd of December 2010. SAAA was a new subsidary enterprise of airBanana, lead by [SAP]John and [SAP]Andy. This organisation was mainly to give flying lessons about VOR, landings, ILS, etc.. San Andreas Aviation Academy became really popular - at that time there was a group of more than 20 people who wanted to join. In the beginning, there were a few basics tests added, which helped people learn what to do in different situations. [SAP]John and [SAP]Andy were the instructors.
The organisation become so popular this system wasn't good enough, so [SAP]John decided to change it. SAAA would offer private lessons with an instructor. These instructors where choosen from an applicants list, and after a test with all the applicants, [SAP]John decided who he wanted as instructors. 7 people applied to become instructors, with 5 being selected to fill the positions. After a long and hard test, the following instructors were selected: [SAP]Hinter, [SAP]Gz0r, Royal, [SAP]Torran and [SAP]Walther.
The new system worked in the beginning, but after a few weeks it began to slack. No people applied for those lessons and SAAA become inactive until [SAP]John announced its closure. Also, lack of players in SAP during the first half of 2012 caused [SAP]John to make these decisions.
Because John doesn't have as much time as before, he decided to concentrate himself on airBananana and San Andreas Stunters. We wish him good luck with these organisations, and hope that he will not regret his choice.

24 Hours of SAPRC Enduro race is a success!
by Nodroz, published: 12/08/2012
SAP Racing Club held one of the biggest events to be ever hosted on SAP yesterday - the 24-hour Enduro race, lasting 2 real life hours, with 7 teams of 2 people each, competing on a custom mapped race track with a custom gamemode.
Saturday's Enduro race, hosted by the famous racing organisation on SAP, San Andreas Pilots Racing Club, was a big success! [SAP]Evel and [SAP]Torran are very happy with the results. The teams drove very safely, as the safety car with the tow truck only needed to go out 2 or 3 times during the entire race. Luckily, in case of an accident or engine failure, we had [SAP]Torran and [SAP]Nodroz to help them off the track, back to the pits. During the race, [SAP]Evel lost his internet connection, which caused him to miss almost 80 minutes of the race.
Two teams had one driver missing, so [SAP]Evel decided to combine the two teams in one, which went really well. The combined team, named Las Venturas Pitbulls ([SAP]Egert and Wild)got 95 laps and finished 4th. As expected, Team Doppelkupplingsgetriebe (known as Team DSG) finished 1st with 109 laps. The 2nd team, San Fierro Bullets got 105 laps and the 3rd team, Team SAPRC, got 101 laps. The race was really exciting because all the teams were pretty close to each other.
Take a look at the pictures below, courtesy of [SAP]Nodroz. If you want to read a complete story about the 2012 24 Hours of SAPRC race, we kindly ask you to read the complete race report, written by [SAP]Evel, the CEO of SAPRC. Click here to read...

SARX Challenges Fail To Attract Attention
by Nodroz, published: 17/08/2012
San Andreas RallyCross, lead by [SAP]Walther and [SAP]Gz0r are having trouble with the "challenges" system. This challenges system should keep the players (racers) busy between championship races, however, this turned out something really different. These challenges were released on June 21, 2012. So far, nobody has attempted any of them. There are 4 different challenges at the moment. More were to come in the future, if there was any interest. We decided to find out why nobody did any of these challenges, and asked [SAP]Gz0r about it:

We decided to find out why nobody did any of these challenges, and asked [SAP]Gz0r about it:
[SAP]Nodroz: Hello Gz0r. Nodroz from SANA here. I would like to ask you a few questions, if possible.
[SAP]Gz0r: Gz0r here, listening. Over. N: The SARX challenges haven't been a success at all. Nobody applied to do them so far. Do you have any idea why? G: That's a good question, there could be several reasons people haven't done any. It could be the fact that everyone is too lazy to post a reply to sign themselves in.. or there is just no intrest in this. N: Hmm, that might be the case indeed. Do you think the prices to do these challenges are a bit high? Maybe that keeps the people from doing any? G: Every organisation needs to earn bit from here and bit from there. And also as money was added, if you haven't noticed yet, players just don't have much places to spend their money on. So I doubt the money is a problem for players, since most are already sky rich compared to some players like myself, who is somewhat under the 10,000 mark. We're just trying to get money to circulate within the server. |
N: Strong point. Are you going to change someting the to challenges to make them more attractable, or are you still hoping the challenges will get more popular soon?
G: A lot of work was put into the challenges, and if there will be any changes, then that's only when we add new challenges.. but as the first ones don't seem to be very attractive... I'm not sure what will happen. There is no point in adding when the usage is zero. N: Thanks a lot for your answers. I truly hope the challenges will get somewhat active sooner or later. Keep up the good work and thanks for this interview! As it can be seen from the interview, the reasons for such lack of interest are rather unknown. We hope for SARX that people will discover these challenges soon! |
SANA TV: SARX Mini Event
by Nodroz, published: 27/08/2012
BLUEBERRY - San Andreas Rally Cross (SARX) hosted a mini logging event in the woods of Blueberry. Participants' task was to go over piles of logs with a monster truck as fast as possible. [SAP]Nodroz managed to get some nice footage of this mini event. You can find his videos at the bottom of this page.
[SAP]Walther and [SAP]Gz0r were well-organised and prepared for a lot of people to come, however, only 2 participants showed up - [SAP]Nodroz and Logan. Due to the lack of participants, [SAP]Gz0r and [SAP]Walther decided to try the obstacle course by themselves. [SAP]Walther broke the record for this little track with less than 3 minutes! However, [SAP]Gz0r got stuck on piles number 1 and 6, causing him to get a time over 5 minutes.[SAP]Nodroz won this mini event with a time of 3 minutes, 19 seconds. View the official race report here.
Our cameran, [SAP]Nodroz got Logan's, [SAP]Gz0r's and a short part of [SAP]Walther's attempts recorded. He made 3 videos, whith one being a slideshow of various pictures. See them below!

Server entertainment - unofficial mini events being held
by Egert, published: 29/08/2012
As many have seen, all organisations have been holding back because of waiting for the organisations update to arrive. Airlines are less active, and so are simple organisations that organise events. But today something happened. [SAP]Egert planned some minievents where at least 5 people participated. There were such games as Hide and Seek, and Sprint racing.
The idea to bring in some simple minigames was on [SAP]Egert's mind for a long time already, but there were not enough players to make it happen. He had done some "Carrier Operations", where some people joined, but still, it was not what he wanted to achieve. So today, when randomly flying, he thought of playing Hide and Seek with some players. There were not many of them (Wild, Logan, JohnNascar & Matty), but it made a chain reaction, where the ideas started to flow. Races were held in Ranchers and the tracks were SFresc - LSresc, which had a new competitor as well, Crahex. At the second sprint, LSresc - Bayside helipad, a new spectator came, [SAP]Livisor. He, after watching the race, also decided to participate. The third race was a long one, Bayside to LSresc. All the events didnt have prizes, and it made the organizer feel good about the community, because people participated for the fun of playing together, not the prize that could be won.
We have a leak of information that there will be a NASCAR-like event on ISL11 someday, something like the one that SAPRC held.

Secret island hunt - SAP Ocean getting crowded
by Egert, published: 31/08/2012
This week an unofficial boat tour company started a Secret Island hunt. Lots of people joined in. Players were going round and round in circles around the ocean trying to find some mysterious spots that have never been noticed. Currently there are about 5 secret islands found, but there are more as said by a source who wanted to stay anonymous. Currently the most visited island is the ship wreck island.
If you would like to see some of these islands, you should ask ingame, if any leaders of the company is ingame. We cant give out names out here, since the CEO didnt want his name to be known.

SAP Hawks receive new vehicles
by Egert, published: 31/08/2012
SAP Hawks, the only skydiving organisation in SAP, have received some new vehicles. Now they can make maritime-themed events, since one of the vehicles is a Tropic that has been anchored north of the Hawks Field. The other vehicle is a Beagle. Finally can Hawks do multi-seater jumps without using a Shamal interior. These last two vehicles were the last the Hawks could get due to the third party organisation rules. But you shouldn't take it as bad news, since now that they have a boat, there has been leakage of information about a basejump boogie where the Tropic will be needed. Stay tuned to hear more information about the boogie.
